Massage Therapy
Deep tissue massage therapy focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. The therapy may be slow with deep pressure working on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscle and fascia.
When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) can form in muscles, tendons and ligaments. These adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement and inflammation.
Along with chronic pain and rehabilitation, deep tissue massage can prove beneficial for the following conditions:
- Back / Hip pain
- Neck / Shoulder pain
- Limited mobility
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Posture problems
- Osteoarthritis
- Sciatica
- Piriformis syndrome
- Tennis elbow
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Fibromyalgia
- Headaches
- General feeling of well-being
